Plastisol Printing
Why plastisol?
We generally only recommend plastisol when printing on fabrics that don’t work well with waterbase inks. This would include synthetic blends, many sweatshirts, performance wear, and fabrics with discharge resistant dyes. The print has a heavier feel than a waterbase print. Plastisol ink is often more stable for matching some bright, opaque Pantone matched colors.
Screen printing with plastisol ink is probably the most common way to decorate garments, though we prefer the professional look and feel of waterbase printing.
Quality first.
We make it clear that we prefer waterbased inks to plastisol for a number of reasons including softness and breathability of the print. That being said, if you want bright opaque colors on fabrics that are troublesome for waterbased inks, then plastisol is the way to go.
